Lucky Pups Pet Wash, Lucky Pups LLC

Grooming and Full Services Policies

Our Policies

  1. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our first priority.  While in our care, we will care for your pet like it is our own.  We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that we think is excessive.

  2. MEDICAL PROBLEMS: You, the owner, will advise us of any medical, physical, emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, or preexisting conditions.  These may include prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections or skin problems.  The grooming process can be stressful and difficult for some pets, especially older pets.  Lucky Pups is not responsible for any injuries or medical conditions that present themselves while your pet is in our care or become aggravated/worsened by the grooming process.

  3. AGGRESSION: If your pet has behavior problems, or has previously bitten or shown aggression in any way, please let us know.  We reserve the right to use a muzzle on your pet for safety purposes or refuse services if we feel your pet is a danger to our staff or is at risk itself due to stress.  IF YOU DO NOT DISCLOSE YOUR PET’S BITE/AGGRESSION HISTORY AND THE GROOMER OR BATHER IS BITTEN/INJURED, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE/LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO THE GROOMER/BATHER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MEDICAL/HOSPITALIZATION BILLS THAT MAY ARISE FROM THE INJURY.

  4. VACCINATIONS: Lucky Pups Pet Wash will not bathe, groom, or perform any service on any pet that is not up to date on its vaccinations, as required by law.  You agree before bringing your pet to Lucky Pups for any service that your pet is current on their vaccinations.

  5. FLEAS: We take every precaution to keep fleas out of our shop.  Please let us know if your dog has fleas so we can take extra precautions to keep the fleas from spreading to the shop or our other client’s pets.  There will be a minimum $5 flea surcharge for excessive fleas to cover flea elimination (extra shampoo, pets with fleas are often washed two or three times to make sure all fleas are removed, towels must be bagged separately, and the shop must be sprayed).  We use a shampoo with D-Limonene, a natural flea killing ingredient, that will kill all the fleas on your pet but will not keep fleas from returning once it returns to its environment.  If fleas are a concern, one of our staff will be happy to discuss ways to eliminate fleas from your pet and its environment.

  6. APPOINTMENTS: We stagger our appointments to minimize the time your pet has to stay with us.  Sometimes, situations occur that disrupt the daily schedule of the groomer and your pet may have to stay with us longer than anticipated.  Your pet’s comfort is our priority and we will make sure your pet has water and bathroom breaks if he or she is with us more than a few hours.  We will call you as soon as your pet is ready to be picked up.  Please make sure we have a current phone number to contact you.  If your pet is not picked up by closing time, we may keep your pet at the shop overnight and you will be charged an overnight stay fee of $40.  We are not a boarding facility but understand emergencies may arise that make it impossible for you to pick up your pet and we will do our best to care for your pet during an emergency situation.

  7. PRICING: Pricing varies for each pet and is determined by breed, size, and condition of your pet.  Additional charges may apply due to the pet’s temperament and behavior during the groom, matting, fleas, specialty cuts, and extremely thick fur.  Pets that are not groomed regularly require more work than pets that are regularly maintained and therefore additional charges may apply.  Please discuss the price with the groomer at the time of drop-off and they will give you an estimate of the cost.  The groomer will call you if any additional problems arise during the grooming process that might affect the cost.

  8. BATH PRICING: Full service bath prices are based on the size of the dog but are also affected by hair length and type.  The final price is determined by the bather and is based on the size and the amount of brushing and drying time.

  9. MATTING: If your pet is matted and cannot be humanely dematted, we may ask permission to clip the hair short and “start over”.  As previously stated, your pet’s safety and comfort are our first priority.  We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that we think is excessive and therefore the groomer reserves the right to refuse to comb out mats if the groomer feels this is unfair to the pet. A matted coat can cause numerous health conditions including itching, irritation, and skin infections.  Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles, and skin folds trapped and hidden in the mats.  Heavy matting and can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing fungus or bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process.  Lucky Pups Pet Wash is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions due to a matted coat or any injury incurred as a direct result of removing the mats.

  10. ACCIDENTS: Although accidents are extremely rare, there is always a risk when working with animals.  Because of this, Lucky Pups Pet Wash would like to make you aware of our policies and procedures in the event of an accident.  Our promise is to take all measures to prevent accidents and if an accident occurs, to notify you immediately.  If necessary, we will transport your pet to the nearest veterinarian and you agree to be responsible for all medical bills unless the injury was directly related to negligence on the part of Lucky Pups Pet Wash, its employees or affiliates.

  11. At Lucky Pups Pet Wash, we do our best to groom or bathe your dog correctly the first time.  If you are not satisfied with our services for any reason, please notify us within 48 hours of the groom or service, and we will be glad to do what we can to correct the problem.

  12. CANCELLATIONS: We request 24 hour notice to change or cancel an appointment.  We will contact you by phone, voicemail, or email to remind you of your appointment.  Giving advance notice gives us the opportunity to fill your grooming slot and rearrange our schedule.  If you cancel or don’t show for your appointment, you may be required to pay a $20 deposit to make future appointments.  Our groomers only get paid on the pets they groom, and therefore require notice so the appointment can be given to another client.

  13. PAYMENT: Payment is due at the completion of services rendered.  We accept cash and all major credit cards.  WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING CHECKS.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
